Both of us (Meggie, and Mo) separately rate books by placing them in one of four categories:
- Exceptional: These are books are worth reading over and over, and have exceptional depth to them.
- Worth Reading: These are good books which we recommend that you read.
- It’s OK: These are books that are decent reads, but you won’t miss out if you don’t read them.
- Avoid: These are books that did not hold our attention all the way through, or had a message that we did not agree with.
Both of us (Meggie and Mo) rate books independently. Meggie pays attention to how exciting the book was and how much it held her attention. Mo pays particular attention to the message and theme of the book.
In the end we combine both these ratings into one. We usually go with the lower rating between the two of us.
